The 2014 Pepsi Summer Solstice on Vevo was a 24 hour live concert series and internet live stream featuring 4 different artists, in 4 different cities, in 4 different time zones. The event kicked off in Montauk, NY at 5:00am EST with a performance by Timeflies, followed by Kid Ink in St. Louis, Missouri, Cher Lloyd in Jackson, WY, and closing with Prince Royce in Malibu, CA. Each performance was streamed live one after the other onto the Vevo and Pepsi websites. TV Tech played a key role in both the pre-production process and in the execution of the live stream. Responsibilities included:
Sent our staff to each of the 4 locations to conduct site surveys.
Provided technical crew for each of the 5 locations, including the 4 performance sites across the country as well as a home base in New York City.
Built a home base network operation center to take in all of the inbound feeds to transmit the broadcast live to air from all of the various sites.
Created a technical show schedule and budget, including labor, equipment rentals, and travel.
Provided tech managers at each of the 4 performance sites to manage all on-site logistics.
Created a working technical design to successfully stream the show from 4 locations, many of which were remote.
Handled payroll for the tech crews at each location, which was over 50 employees in total.
